In Pakistan, drone attack victims pursue criminal charges against US government officials
While the US military continues its campaign in Afghanistan, in neighboring Pakistan, there is continuing opposition to the CIA’s drone strikes. Activists, lawyers and two Pakistani citizens will begin the process of seeking an arrest warrant for former CIA official John Rizzo, who they accuse of overseeing some of the deadly drone strikes. According to the Guardian, the lawyers say the US is violating the laws of war and they want Rizzo and possibly others involved in the drone strikes charged with murder. For more on this and the implications of the visit this weekend of Pakistan’s spy chief to Washington, we spoke to Raza Rumi in Lahore, editor of the Pak Tea House website.Click here to listen audio and read complete article

[...] In Pakistan, drone attack victims pursue criminal charges against US government officials [...]
Pakistan’s army giving ground intelligence to drones and they are part of that operation. This means victims should pursue Pak army but not USA.
Drones are blessing in disguise. It saved the life of hundreds of American soldiers otherwise would have perished due to Pakistan army’s double game.
But Pakistanis are also misusing the drones by giving wrong ground intelligence inputs aimed to kill the local Pushtun leaders who oppose atrocities of Pakistan army and its presence in Pushtun land.
Oh, this could be the ISI ploy to divert the attention of poor Pakistanis from Fai/Kashmir/ISI/Pakistan case that was investigated by the FBI’s counterterrorism division.
Why these lawyer (/liars) never went to court against pak army’s top brass whose double-dealings and collaboration with islamofascists are the real root-cause of this dance of death and islamic fascism-imperialism over the Sindhu river basin (which also includes FATA, NWFA, Kabul valley etc.) and its HINDU (by definition they are hindus) inhabitants?
This is just the start! Pakistan Gvt. could take the initiative and issue warrant of arrest against the accused! This is the way for Pakistan to clear up its Army and ISI alleged involvement in the crime. Only fools stay on board the sinking ship?

the drones are a real blessing from allah.they are doing the work that our own govt. is too scared to do.the drones are eliminating the islamic fascists who infest our tribal areas.the americans should increase the number of their drones so that more of these islamic terrorists can be killed before they get a chance to plan terrorist attacks in our cities.the women and children killed are killed because these islamic terrorists deliberately hide in places with women and children in the hope that the americans won’t attack,but the terrorists need to get the message that they will be pursued and eliminated be it ,in their homes,or their madrassas or masjids.

To which court can the pakistani govt. go? The judges in Pakistan all live in fear of being assassinated if they give a verdict against the islamofascists. A country where judges live in fear of the isl. fascists, street-gangs, killers etc. can bring no peace and justice.
@Observer
There are consequences for every wrong committed in the tribal territory, be it in Pakistan or outside Pakistan, there is a payback. The law of Karma, vengence or an eye for an eye or whatever. This is the law of the primitive volks and still practiced in many parts of the world from Khyber to Herat band Karachi to Palermo and Milano to chicago and huston to mexico city. There is a sign of civilisation if the victims families are now seeking the course of law instead of the law of jungle.
Those who rose against the military rule in Pakistan, are not going to fear kyani and co or the foreigners. There are many names on the list of amnesty International in Islamabad, who should be willing to litigate against the accused even without any fees.

Americans did not show remoarse or regrets when they witnessed death and sufferings of Japanese after the atomic bomb drops, they are not going to regret when their drone actions cause children and women casualties. There are no terrorists or Islamic fascists in tribal land which has no go areas for non Pashtoons! Fear and paranoia have gripped the American administrationm and is apparent in some commentaries, which usualy gives a permanent delusion to the individual and gradualy he becomes sentimental, suspicious, irritable, introverted, depressed, obstinate, jealous, selfish, unsocial and bitter. He shows no remoarse or regrets for the evil he brings out and then all of a suuden he takes up the role of a victim.
Pakistan has experienced the wrath of God almighty after its army diplaced its own citizens in the tribal are, similar to what occured after the intrusion of Russians and Amercans, in earthquakes and floods from the north right down to the ocean in the south. Those who are bringing death and destruction into the land of Pashtoons should not squawk when the return comes outside their door steps.

You, as usual, avoided the crucial question: to which court in Pakistan are the litigants going with their cases against those who sowed this islamic fascism, mayhem and hate in Pakistan?
—
The judges and courts in Pakistan are all under the violent vigilance of the islamo-fascists and their street-gangsters. Will the litigants go to some courts in USA or UK or Den Hague?

The law of karma is actually a faith for keeping oneself away from vendettavengeance or . One who has faith in this law of karma resorts to no violence against the crime-doer. He leaves it to the law of karma to bring about justice. Those who believe in the law of karma are actually free from vengeance. Since you are islamically indoctrinated hence you failed to comprehend this nuance.
@ sharjeel – you have hit the nail on the head – if we were to clean up our own house the americans would not need to do it for us. However so far all our leaders have been afraid or incompetent to do so. What a shame!
@sharjeel and nasir:
for people like you there is only one answer : I hope a drone slices up your house and kills your women and children. Because people like you are no better than those “so-called islamic fascists”. People like you promote hatred, violence, extremism and racism while wearing the “cloak” of liberalism. What you dimwits are unable to get is that every time you kill an innocent man’s family, burns them to the ground.. YOU force that innocent man to become a “terrorist”..and I fully sympathize with that man because may be men like you dont have any feelings but any normal man is likely to go insane with remorse, anger and helplessness. And thus his ‘Vengeance’ is very understandable!

well said!

I do not see the need to start a discussion on karma; I quoted Karma since it recognises the right of a warrior to war and death for his enemy. Resistance is what we talk about in the western world.
I know it is difficult for me to evaluate your thoughts but your judgement about Pakistani courts and judges is very faulty and your references to courts in the USA, UK and Hague are misleading and a diversion.
.USA is a country with racist past and where human rights are violated within their legal and non legal system. To hold innocents in Guetanamo prison without any trial, and conduct conduct randitions or peddling of victims of different nationalities in different prisons set up around the world specificaly to exercise torture on them could not give any confidence for justice. Besides to protect its military, USA does not recognise the UN criminal court at Hague.
. UK courts do not entertain foreign victims against whom crimes are committed by non UK citizens on foreign soil.
.Hague court is not recognised by the USA for this very reason to avoid the trials of American soldiers. Besides, the court has currently a prosecutor who is unlikely to entertain any complaints of crimes committed y the American soldiers.

I hate to be a spoilsport. But having been the first Asian Assistant Attorney-General in the USA and having graduated with LLM with Honour Paper from Harvard Law School (1966) and being a good (not goods!) Muslim who loves selectively (and where necessary dislikes individually and appropriately) hindus, christians, jains, sikhs confucians, buddhists, non-Muslims, what-have-you, FAISAL JHANGHVIS, THE BHANDHARI-BHANDS, mfhusains (barefoot or in Bally shoes) and even that ugly-duckling from Model Town who fancies herr-self as the doyyen of art in LawWhore … I hate to tell these johynny-come-lately lawyers and liars both (ie LLB kkkalling!!!) that for non-American citizens to sue in USA, they have to be in the USA in the first place (Na nnoe munn taill hoe-ga na Radha nachay gee!). And, S.V.P., dammit even verifiable and certified idiots should know that the ICJ in the Hague only accepts complaints from the States, not from the Individuals. The Government of Pakistan (= Islamic Republic of Pakistan) could make a complaint under the terms of its Treaty (1989) with USA, but do you think our corrupt rulers (footas and their sycophant-chamchas included) would dare.
That would risk imminently endangering over $200 Billion that have been siphoned off of Pakistan (since we fell on our National face in Dacca-Jee) as illicdit/unjust enrichment ne$$$$t-egg by our choud-hurrys/sharrrREEFS/Zardari-Pull-AOs et cetera/extras. They have a cowardly-defeatest mentality and are scared of winning in any international forum.
(I feel sorry but no pity for them en toto!).I am not into PR. I am a vakil and a mussawere. Also I DO NOT APPROVE OF CHICKENS COMING HOME TO ROAST anonymously!!

There is just one typo in the above text.
And this being Sunday, it is not, repeat not, a Work of Art. illicdit has been wrongly spelled as illicit.
Correct spellings are illicdit…
To err is human!!!
(And I am grateful to God All Mighty that I never learned to type or typecast.) Apparently as vakil and mussawere this is not my destiny!
Thanks so much for your help, this site has been a great break from the books.
