Why America won’t re elect President Obama

By Saad Hafiz:

It is probably way to early almost foolish to write off an incumbent U.S President nearly eighteen months before the next U.S. Presidential elections. Despite the old adage ‘a week is a lifetime in politics’, I am sticking my neck out to predict that President Obama will end up a one term democratic President like Jimmy Carter and unlike Bill Clinton.

Republicans have successfully painted Obama as a radical liberal, a tax and spend left wing Democrat, or something on the edge of a Socialist winning a sizeable mandate in 2008 to transform America toward European-style social democracy.  Obama’s opponents led by the Tea Party Movement (TPM) delivered a telling counterpunch to his “mandate” in the mid term elections in November 2010. As the radical Republican objective is a rollback not containment of the Obama “experiment” they intend to deliver the knockout blow in November 2012 by recapturing the White House.

Frankly, Republican charges against Obama while easy to make and stick, are really not supported by the facts. President Obama it seems is essentially following in the footsteps of George Bush. He has conceded all the Bush tax cuts; he fully executed Bush’s estimated $25 billion financial industry bailout or TARP program; he opted out of the most contentious provisions in his watered down healthcare bill or Affordable Care Act derisively called Obamacare by opponents and the U.S. is still involved in Bush’s two wars.

So the special enmity many now have for Obama cannot be legitimately be based just on his policies, politics, or agenda. After all since time immemorial, Republicans have been accusing Democrats of being “big spenders loving big government” with Democrats calling Republicans “pro rich anti poor warmongers”.

A sensitive aspect that Americans would rather not talk about or focus on is that President Obama’s 2008 victory was exceedingly frightening to a great many people. Barack Hussein Obama as the first black President is fighting against those who fear the irreversible color change in America. He is the simply the first one they can see coming over that hill, they desperately want him ousted in the futile hope that they can “take back our country”! This would explain the particularly vicious and vitriolic campaign mounted against him.

However, President Obama biggest failing has been his inability to deliver tangible economic progress to middle-class Americans which would have set him apart from the regression of the dismal Bush years. While Obama inherited America’s present economic morass from Bush, he has not pursued vastly different economic policies to address the chronic high unemployment, low wage growth, and the anemic economy. This alone may deny him a second term in office.

The “double whammy” of being a divisive figure to some due to his background does not help Obama either.  Sure the long time before the next election could make a lifetime of a difference for the electoral chances of President Obama and his eventual Republican challenger.

Republicans and their Presidential choice may not be able to endure a close scrutiny of their past failed record or platform – particularly as it relates to poor fiscal management, costly foreign wars, and the environment. Where timing is everything in politics, it may be the Republicans are peaking too soon.

Democrats and President Obama may be able to re-state their appeal to middle-class Americans worried about their finances by posting better economic numbers and through actual job creation. Although appearing cornered, President Obama with his surplus of determination and advertising dollars which generally flow to the incumbent may break out of the failed “status quo” to reinvent himself in his last ever campaign. While we breathe we hope!

I made financial contributions and voted for President Obama in 2008.
I thought he is an honest person and realizes that one day he will be out of office, sitting alone, pondering on what he did right and wrong while in office of Prez. Honest and bold person makes the decision, regardless it is a tough decision and against the conventional wisdom. He vety well knows the atrocities committed by Israel on daily basis. He knows Israel has usurped the land. Still he decided to use his first veto in UN against the resolution condeming Israel’s new constructions on Palestinian territory. Obama should have abstained from voting. Still i would have not changed reality on ground, but at least being his suuporter i would have given him credit for at least believing Israel is doing wrong. For 2012 election i am supporting an American Jew, he is son of survivors of Nazi concentration camps, he is bold, courageous and honest man. I will nominate him through ‘Americans Elect’ (www.americanselect.org). His name is Professor Doctor Norman Finkelstein Ph.D.

What about the land usurped by muslims, by Pakistan? What about extermination of hindus through islam/muslims in the Sindhu (Indus) river basin? Why is Obama giving money to Pakistan and to muslims? If Israel deserves no support then even less so Pakistan.

The abrahamic religions are all land-greedy, genocidal, imperialist, (monotheistic=)totalitarian ideologies. Why are they being given so much leverage and importance?

The republican party of USA is a coalition of christian fascists, dollar-fascists, and capitalist fascists. The democrats have to copy them in order to survive. That is the logic of US capitalism and its fascism.

The huge number of huge massacres of communists (I am not a communist) in the past 70 years (Greece, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Vietnam, Iran, Yemen, Chile, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Arab countries, South America, Africa … etc.) they all go on the account of USA. Now USA is facing an even worse monster in the form of islam. Israel is mankind’s good hope against islam (inspite of judaism being an abrahamic religion).

A pretty weak article overall, and one which hasn’t been backed by rigid facts. Learn to write compelling pieces instead of simply packaging your gut feelings into an opinionated piece.

“What about the land usurped by muslims, by Pakistan?”

Read some history. People who created Pakistan WERE NOT ARABS, they were children of HINDUS. Their ancestors got sick of worshipping Hindu gods such as Monekys, Dogs, Cows, Human Penis etc. In the NWFP people who opted for Pakistan in 1947 were decendents of JEWS.
Sure, no one will accuse Jews of Israel of usurping Muslim and Palestinian land if they had converted Muslims and Christian of Palestine to Jews and then created a country for Jews. But this was NOT the case in 1948 and this is NOT the case today.

You have a very romantic idea of the conversions to islam and about how wonderful it all became for those who converted.

Your idea that hindus only worship penises, cows, monkeys etc. is taken from some typical pakistan-ideology manual for teaching pakistani children to hate and ridicule hindus. Muslims are far more engaged about penises, vulvas and female body parts and all that than the hindus. Hindu relgions ALSO contain a lot of highest philosophy – far higher than what islam can offer.

NWFP did not opt for Pakistan – they were theatened or some (like the followers of Bacha Khan foolishly) boycotted the referendum. The Durand line problem was suppressed and has now flared up again.

Jews generally don’t convert anyone and muslims who convert to non-islam are killed by their ex-fellow muslims.

The question is not whether the founders of Pakistan were arabs/turks or not. They certainly were quislings of arab/turkish imperialisms and they joyfully exterminated the hindus in Pakistan soon after. It is not about what your body looks like (arab, turk, panjabi etc.), but about your loyalty, self-respect and dignity. This is where the muslims in India behaved and still behave as quislings. Even Vidkun Quisling was a norwegian by appearance and origin (and not a German) but he sold his loyalty to the nazi invaders and acted as their agent and was hence executed as criminal by the Norwegian state.

Islam was created solely by Mohammad in Makkah and Madinah and not in India. There is no indian contribution to islam. In India it is a 100% alien ideology. Loyalty to this ideology means loyalty to arab imperialism and its monotheistic totalitarianism-fascism. That is the big sin of Pakistan and its creators and defenders.

You call youself a US citizen but obviously you too are a quisling of islam in USA. I hope the other US citizens are aware of your potential for treacheries to bring in islamic rule over them.

I couldn’t agree more regarding this article.I will be charitable and say that the writer Hafiz was weak from Ramadan fasting, hence his lack of cohesion and depth.

Obama will NOT be re-elected because early on in his presidency the Emperor’s clothes had fallen off. Every day since, that fact becomes more apparent and frightful.

Obama as a political force came from the vipers brood of the Chicago political machine. An acolyte of Saul Alinsky, his “Community Organizer” mentor, he emerged from the most corrupt entity at the right time with a nation depressingly weary of the BUSHES.

Americans being the pagal de puttar, that they are, one should just consider that the same electorate that voted for “Read my lips”, BUSH, doing the Monica in the Oval Office CLINTON,Watergate Breakin NIXON, “Great Society” JOHNSON. The mediocrity astonishes.

With a failed public school system, a health care system about to be euthanized, worthless currency,socio-economically bankrupt, Americans are about to see their way of life disappear into a world of tribal anarchy.

US Citizen, for what you (and your countrymen) have done to Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities (e.g. Ahmadis) in Pakistan, you will suffer by watching the plight of Muslims in Palestine and everywhere else that they are being persecuted now. It is called the law of Karma.

Yours is the typical response of someone caught red-handed. My remarks have touched the real problem that you pakistanis and ex-pakistanis (now Us citizen wanting to do a Pakistan to USA) are caught in. So you are now dismissing it as BS. Thus you have proved that I have pinpointed the right root cause of your political and mental sicknesses in Pakistan and USA.

You get your ideas about India and hindus by reading propaganda pamphlets published by islamofascsits who own and rule Pakistan. I get my knowledge and analysis about islam (real islam) by reading wide-circulated pakistani newspapers made by muslims for muslims in a land under the total control of islam. That is why your remarks about India and hindus are false whereas my remarks about islam are correct. So you are caught within your propaganda lies.

appreciate your feedback but you were not specific about the reasons you considered the article weak. the article is speculative hence gut feel is part of it. Oped pieces by nature are like that so the reader’s comprehension is tested like yours obviously was.

    @Gora Bandar

You have labeled all Americans including yourself as pagal de puttar for having elected Obama and some of the other Presidents before Franklin D. Roosevelt but from your perspective FDR as the father of the New Deal should be your main target for creating Big government. Americans like most people in countries around the world are demanding leadership to address major issues so your nihilist claptrap is unhelpful and stupid.
