Interview of Maududi’s son

Haidar Maudodi, the son of late Maulana Maudodi, speaks in this interview about his struggles with the Jamaat-i-Islami – the party his father founded. He agonizes over the way the Maulana’s personal property was usurped and his children were tormented by the Jamaat. Withholding nothing, Haidar Maudodi vents his anger at street violence in the name of Islam by the party and the way it has been protected by the establishment. The most fascinating aspect of his talk is that having closely witnessed the party’s deeds, Maulana Maudodi’s own son wishes for a country that is not controlled in the name of religion.
