Biography
Zaid Hamid was born in Karachi on March 14, 1964. His father, Col. Zaman Hamid (Retd), served in the Pakistan Army. Zaid spent his early life in Karachi. He received a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Systems Engineering from NED University, Karachi in 1980′s.
According to the brochure published by BrassTacks, available on the website www.zaidhamid.pk. Zaid Hamid rose to the fore when he started a program named Brass Tacks on a TV channel, discussing “Economic Terrorism, CIA Threats to Pakistan, Zionist Wars against Islam and Role of Spiritual Forces in War”.
The brochure also proudly states that, “The International think tanks and media, especially the Americans and Iranians have distinctively noticed him as well. A New York Times article and documentary specially featured the impact his so falsely termed “conspiracy theories” have on the Pakistani youth”
Claim to Fame
Zaid Hamid proudly confesses taking part in the Afghan “Jihad” (which was funded by American Money and Israeli weaponry. Khulla Tazad?). Since then he has been working at Brass Tacks, a security analysis company. After the show on ARY news, he also did a show named “Iqbal ka Pakistan” on Aag TV (that program has been reviewed thoroughly by myself which can be seen here). We will see a sample of one of the reports of BrassTacks and my comments on that afterwards.
The “Confidential Weekly Edition: Pakistan Security and Political Situation Report & Threat Analysis© 2011 BrassTacks. All Rights Reserve Issued on April 24th, 2011” available here(despite being termed confidential) states that
“What is most unfortunate is that it is the Pakistani PM who is acting as Indian Information minister and doing the bidding for the enemy state. Now it is clear that Pakistan and India would go to war on water in not so far future! With summers approaching and water shortage hitting the vital food crops, the temperature on diplomatic and military axis would also rise rapidly. Proxy war between Pakistan and India is now heating up in the entire region with regional countries also becoming the battle ground for Indian total war on Pakistani state. It is incredible that how Indian foreign office, information ministry and their leadership maintain a friendly face towards Pakistan while attacking Pakistan on all economic, diplomatic and military axis in the entire region.”
It further informs us that,
“Pakistan is not a monolithic state like Iran or Saudi Arabia rather its sectarian demography contains a sizeable Shia population among the majority Sunni. This Shia populace is well integrated with Pakistani society and is playing a vital role in
progress and development.”
Yes, Shia populace is SOO well-integrated in Pakistani Society that thousands of Shias have been killed in the last 20 years and there has not been any sectarian violence in this “Land of Peace”.
The Broucher also provides the details of Zaid Hamid’s appearances in media, and that he has appeared in multiple episodes of Thori si Siyasat with his lackey, Ahmad Qureshi.
The website zaidhamid.pk also informs us
“Welcome to our battle station in a war to defend Pakistan’s Islamic ideology and national identity! This is our platform and weapon system to launch the counter attack against ideological subversion by the hostile forces through the axis of disinformation and propaganda warfare.” The website www.brasstacks.pk has only one working page, the rest is “Under Construction”.
Antagonists
Another very useful website is http://zaidhamidexposition.org/who-is-zaid-hamid/ which was instrumental in bringing his drama to a premature end in 2008-09. The problem was that this website based all its hatred and opposition of Zaid Hamid on some previous blasphemy charges of his. He successfully reinvented himself a few months after that because you just cannot fight illogical people with illogical claims. Very few serious attempts were done to understand and destroy the utopian fallacies being propagated by Zaid Hamid.
Zaid Hamid has been exposed and ridiculed in the media by columnists Fasi Zaka(whom ZH had accused of being a Jewish agent because he was a Fulbright Scholar), Nadeem Farooq Paracha and Mohammad Haneef. He has also been parodied multiple times on the Four Man Show. Despite all these efforts, he still was invited on TV channels as a “Political Analyst” while he has advocated an Anti-politician bias throughout his programs and speeches. Last year, he appeared in a program with Marvi Sirmed in which he tried to defend his delusions and myths propagated in history by the establishment.
Recently, in a program on Express News, Zaid Hamid was dealt expertly by Hasan Nisar and Ali Chishti. They ruthlessly exposed his baseless claims and so-called ideology by using facts. Not surprisingly, the very next day, Hasan Nisar was labeled as a “RAW agent” and “Anti-Pakistani, depression-creator Traitor” on the Syed Zaid Zaman Hamid[Official] page. (Interestingly, Zaid Hamid re-branded himself as “Syed” after his prosecution based on alleged links with Yousaf Kazzab, to show the world that he in-fact is a big Aashiq-e-Rasool.)
In Zaid Hamid’s universe, anyone that does not agree with him is either a traitor or Anti-Pakistan/Anti-Islam/RAW agent/Zionist.
Zaid Hamid’s Views/Ideology:
Zaid Hamid advocates the establishment of Khilafah and an Iranian style revolution. He is staunchly anti-democracy. He wants the Gold Standard back. He wants to “conquer” India. He has a different definition for “Zionists” and labels everyone whom he dislikes as a Zionist. He was one of the proponents of the “Good Taliban/Bad Taliban” theory.
He thinks Allama Iqbal was not a human being but a “spiritual” super-human. He is openly pro-establishment and wants Army to take over the political system until the Khalifa arrives. He thinks Muslims can form a political bloc to fight against the “immoral, corrupt and conspiring West”. He believes that the cause of floods in Pakistan was some secret Indian/American mission. He thinks Baloch Insurgents and TTP are foreign-funded. Zaid Hamid has changed his positions many times as well. There was no mention of Khilafah in his earlier programs, but after the “Kazzab” allegations, he took up a new name, changed his identity to a hyper-national, Spiritual, Dynamic person. In short, he is the Glenn Beck of Pakistan, without the black-board that is. Our worry is not that Zaid Hamid will get a chance to rule this country, our worry is that main stream politicians like Imran Khan have espoused the same ideologies as Zaid Hamid and this trend needs to be checked(If you do not believe this, please do watch the show Iqbal ka Pakistan, in which Imran Khan was invited to the show in episode 4 as a guest and apart from other similarities, Zaid Hamid used the word “tsunami” as a political force in episode 21). Fringe players like Zaid Hamid are present in almost every country, they shouldn’t be allowed though to enter the mainstream and affect National Discourse.

Aneela typifies the muslim womens’ mentality. The muslim women is supposed to make the muslim man a macho. That is the kind of man islam needed and needs. A muslim woman’s pride is in bringing forth sons – as many as possible – who are ready to kill, lie and die for islam. The muslim woman’s value is measured by that. Islam is to take over the whole earth and rule over mankind. The muslim women has to be ready to suffer any insult or slavery or pain for instigating men to be ruthless and bringing forth macho sons. That Aneela is a teacher makes the problem all the more seriously fascistic. Women have their own fascism too.

can you open your thought to this simple contradiction; your freedom has no defined limits, it is spontaneous, dependent on your whims, whereas Islam has defined limits for everyone’s freedom, so there is no hindrance/confusion in exercising it freely. but of course your free-will will tell you that if you listen to a higher intelligence you would be jeopardizing the free-will so you’d rather do the wrong as long as you’r doing it your way.
. . and there are not a million interpretation of the Quran, i think you have exaggerated,human intelligence is not capable of that. Hadith says there are several meanings hidden in each verse but men have not sat down to woo in them.

islam has never been and will never be a monolith. islam is different in the different countries that practice islam. if islam is different in different countries, then obviously it means that there is no fixed interpretation! everybody thinks that their interpretation is correct. you think your interpretation is correct, my friends think that theirs is correct and people in secular turkey think that theirs is correct. so obviously there is no ONE interpretation. in countries like syria, turkey, tunisia, indonesia, india and now even bangladesh, islam is secular in nature. it is an inclusive type of islam. whereas in pakistan, saudi, afghanistan it is a throttling and extremist kind of islam. VOILA!! so do you now see that everybody interprets islam differently? THERE IS NO ONE PERFECT INTERPRETATION OF THE HADITH AND THEREFORE OF ISLAM. when people read ANY book people interpret it differently because each and every individual is different and thinks differently. as far as higher intelligence is concerned, a book that says ” you can kill a kafir” simply because he does not follow islam is NOT a book of higher intelligence. i believe in being eclectic and taking what i consider as good in certain religions. so i believe in taking what is good in islam, hinduism, christianity nad leaving behind what i believe is NONSENSE in these religions. the people make up a religion and its belief systems. nobody else. in india and pakistan there is exists a strong sufi culture. in fact almost all indian muslims are devout sufi’s( which i think is a beautiful philosophy). and yet the quran forbids worshipping anybody but allah!! yet hundreds of millions of indians and pakistanis worship sufi shrines( there are some very important ones in Lahore which were bombed recently). are you still going to say that there is only one interpretation of islam?! YOURS?! that is just plain arrogance. believing this again leads to divisiveness and sectarianism. yo are against this and still think only your interpretation is right! your life is like a dichotomy!
some muslim women wear burqa’s some dont. again proof that islam is practiced differently. my relatives moved from lahore to india during the partition and they tell me that in those days the burqa was nonexistent there. and it is bullshit to say that islam asks for the veil. muslim men ask for it not islam. i challenge you to quote me any text in the hadith that asks for the veil!? so islam asking for the veil is again the kind of nonsense that men perpetuate. i am for the burqa ban because it is a symbol of woman subservience. generally i would be against it because a woman has the right to wear whatever she wants, but in this specific case, the burqa is the symbol of a barbaric and mediaval act thst i want to see extinct in the word.

I was merely describing what is happening to muslim women in islam-dominated societies, esp. in Pakistan. These societies are not controlled by me. Hence your reaction does not refute what I have said. Muslim women are being misused by islam. Even muslim men dare not escape islam – what to speak of the “weaker” gender. Islam is the biggest producer of cowards and the women (who are less in a position to rebel against any fascism) have to live under that. I sympathize with them and in no way downgrade them. The developments in islam-dominated societies confirm my conclusions. Instead of ridiculing me try to find some way out for your own society and the women living under it.

Your mind is shackled in an irrelevant and backward-oriented 7th century arabic book and the totalitarian world view that this book spreads and enforces. Belief-based hatred is being fuelled by this very book which you think was given by some god. Why pretend that it is not so? Muslim mothers bear children to become fighters for islamic imperialism and totalitarianism – what freedoms are you talking about? Islamic history provides us with truckloads of proofs that islam is totalitarian and imperialist. You in Pakistan are not allowed to know that. You know nothing about Afghans or Pashtuns. Pashtuns and the other ethnic groups of Afghanistan have a long history of intermarriage and co-mingling and prior to the Jihadi period none of this nationalist ethnic crap existed among Afghans. This phenomenon of ethnic intolerance started when Iranians and Pakistanis employed this tactic to fragment and fracture Afghan society for their own evil agendas. The Taliban brought a dark period in Afghan history and nobody wants to revisit that period. Pashtuns existed harmoniously for milleniums with all the other ethnic groups in Afghanistan and they will continue to do so despite the evil agendas of Afghanistan’s neighbors.

After noticing that he has served our purpose, we would like to mention that Zaid Hamid was in fact funded by us the Research and Analysis Wing to cause discord and paranoia in Pakistan and to divert the attention of the youth from the pressing problems facing the country.
We did not know that out efforts would meet with such success.
Initially, we agreed to fund his TV program Brasstacks and when it took off with increasing viewership, we had no problems extending the funds for so many years. Our objective was to create schisms in Pakistani society and promote anti-democratic and fundamentalist forces so that Enlightened moderation as evinced by former President Musharraf never takes root in Pakistan and its youth are forced to accept conspiracy theories hook line and sinker and are forever aligned to the forces of violence and despotism.
We wanted to create an everlasting wedge between moderate Pakistanis who wanted to take the nation forward and those who wanted to stifle dissent of every sort. We wanted to turn into fanatics the youth of Pakistan who would resist all moderation and democratic change.
We wanted to drown out the voice of moderation in Pakistan so that
the new fanatical rulers of Pakistan act in such a way so as to make it an obvious and ever growing threat to the entire region so that the super powers are forced to take notice of this change.
We wanted to feed the youth of Pakistan with delusions of grandeur and hatred, knowing that this combination can be pretty explosive and catastrophic for the future of the nation of Pakistan.
So far we have been amazingly successful in employing the right person to do the job for us and so short a time.
