Two videos: Kafir factory and Jinnah’s secularism
We are posting two video clips which are relevant to the debates that PTH encourages. In the first clip, Mohmmad Hanif, the author of “The case of exploding mangoes” speaks about the “kafir factory” which mullahs have turned Pakistan into. In the second clip, Meraj Khan launches into a passionate defense of Jinnah’s secularism. The notable thing about the speeches is that they were held publicly in Karachi on the death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam. It is hoped that the arguments which they make penetrate the mainstream media. While the discussion was held under the auspices of MQM it is still a good sign that the menace of extremism is being tackled by some on the public forum.

Even other laws are misused and abused …ylh should know if he ever goes to the court or knows a vee bit of law. Unluckily his view is distorted and he’s wasting himself in a wrong and evil pursuit just like the Ali brothers wasted themselves in the khilafat movement. khilafat was not problem of indian muslims.jinnah never fought for it.ghandhi cleverly deflcted muslim problems(which were econonmic in nature)towards khilafat movement.
remaining all are admininistrative problems.i have seen with my own eyes some notorious muslims leaders tearing pages of holy quran to collect,blaming incident on hindus.every community has some black sheeps.may be that moulvi wanted to grab the land of christians by evicting them.punishment for blashphemy should be reduced to avoid its misuse.

Have you also wondered about the fact that the blog keeps these nut cases alive, but drives out anybody who has a well-reasoned but contrary opinion. Why, even Hayyer was not spared, despite him passing the PTH acceptability test – he likes Jinnah (pre-1937 any way) and hates Gandhi. That was not enough to spare him getting abused, just because his opinions diverged a little bit on some issue. But the crap mongers don’t get moderated for the most part, and don’t get thrown out. You have got to wonder why.

I’ve been through this many times with PTH management and have agreed to differ. Their point of view is based on freedom of expression, taken, in my personal opinion, to an extreme. Unless it is grossly offensive, like ahem is, there is no ban. Hayyer Sahib will never be banned. He is too well-respected for that to be even thought of. His absence means that he is settling in – he travels frequently – or that he has found nothing worth a comment. AFAIK, very, very few people have been permanently banned. Sometimes, as in the case of a creep, his posts may get expunged, but banning is very rare.
I think the fringe elements, the nut cases should be driven out, but for that one needs a full-time staff. And it is against their philosophy.
Nobody should be banned. What will be the fun without Tajender/Saad,

The instance of people being banned simply for arguing the opposite position has been much too frequent. Maybe you have forgotten the cases, Vajra. Rarely has somebody been banned for spewing hatred. Usually, it has been for presenting a different point of view in a logical manner.
